Does everybody still think the Clubhouse in Heathrow is one of the best lounges in the world. I have now seen BA Terraces in Gatwick , CX F in HK, CX J lounge in Heathrow , SIA F in Singapore , but I still think VS Clubhouse has the edge, What do you all think?

The F side of the CX Pier at HKG is my fav, also love the long bar in the J side of the Wing. Not seen the T5 lounges yet,but from reports the food is the same old crap. Can say that whatever the lounge is like it doesn't influence my decision of which airline to fly.(Thats when I actually get to fly again[:(])

From my perspective the lounge is mostly a quiet place to rest before a flight and I tend not to avail myself of too many facilities. As others have said in other threads on here, the inflight service is more important given I will be spending several hours there.

Have now experienced the BA T5 lounges including the Concorde Room and they very much meet the requirements of a quiet place to rest (albeit very quiet at the moment with so few LHs going from T5). BA lounge food is better in T5 than it was in T4 or T1 but not great. For me the Clubhouse is a bit too 'busy' in terms of design and activity (I know, stone the heretic) so the T5 F lounges top the Clubhouse for my personal taste. (NB for my personal taste).

Favourite lounge I've experienced is the new QF F lounge in Sydney. Stylish, quiet, comfortable, top snacks and good booze.

I've been in the LH FCT, BA CCR (new and old), CX Wing and Pier and Clubhouse this year, and VS still wins. BA's new CCR at T5 is impressive, and has closed the gap considerably to be second best in my mind. It is much more grown up than the CX (think Four Seasons v design hotel), and the food much improved too with their own burger option. Wines are light years ahead of VS, but the service isn't as impressive. When they iron the kinks out, it should be very close.

The FCT is impressive for the ground handling, but I wasn't blown away by the rest of the lounge. All very good, but not exceptional.

For my money, the Heathrow Clubhouse is still the best lounge of any I use anywhere in the world. Individual elements may be better in other lounges but when you put it all together, it still comes out on top.

I will always wonder, though, where VS bought all the chairs in their Clubhouses. They are quite definitely the most uncomfortable chairs I have ever used, anywhere. So many of the Clubhouses seem to have this problem.

Funny you say that about the chairs, cshore> I just had to move out of one of those exact chair because it was uncomfortable and pretty darn impossible to use my laptop. The Clubhouse is still my favorite, despite some spotty customer service in the last 30 minutes- wrong meal served, twice forgetting to bring water with my other drink. The sort of thing I normally wouldn't expect here. Far better than being down in the pub in the main area, though.
