I joined Flying Club before booking my flight and gave the number to my travel agent, how long does it take for the actual card to turn up as I want to have it with my when I fly?

your card is sent out once your first activity goes into your account.

You don't actually need it for anything when you fly as the number should be attached to the booking your travel agent made. If you want to double double check then I think you should be able to get a reference from the agent for the ticket, login to VirginAtlantic.com and attach the FC number to your booking (whilst at the same time checking out your seat allocation).

You usually get your FC card once you have taken your first flight with VS. Our family who we went to MCO with last month got their cards about 5 days after arriving home.

As Paul said, the card itself is pretty useless, just make sure your FC number is linked against your booking at everything will hit your account ok.
