Hi all
Newbie to the site, but planning my trip to Oz in Oct, and now that VA Flying Club is partners with Virgin Blue, intend to do my travelling with them.
One flight is Bris to Perth so thinking about PE as I'm a tall chap - just wondered if it is worth it?
Also how reliable (time wise) are Virgin Blue?
Appreciate any help you can give!

I havent flown their premium economy but i did fly with the in november 4 times and they were fantastic for the value, and im sure that the premium product will be very good.
In terms of on time performance, i didnt suffer any major delays the odd 5 mins is acceptable

I too haven't flown in their PE section but the rest of the plane is fine and you can reserve seats in the blue zone - emergency exit rows - for a small fee (considerably cheaper than PE) and Lounge access can be bought at $30 a person online and $35 at the door. There are as on time as everyone else I have flown with - ie they don't have a bad reputation.
Apart from a flexible ticket and a bit more luggage, and the excess baggage charges are minimal $20 flat fee for another 10kgs, and of course personnal space width and legroom the fares are considerably higher than the rest of the aircraft. (Same could be said for any airline premium products really!)
Brisbane to Perth is the longest domestic flight sector in Australia at 5-6 hours. So I can understand you want to be comfortable.
Enjoy your trip.

Their PE product didn't exist when we used them for 4 internal flights last August but I would echo that they were great even in ordinary Y.We never had any problems with excess luggage on any of the internals apart from the MEL- SYD route (this was waived once they realised we were travelling UC with VS but wasn't much cash wise anyway). No problems with reliability and the lounges are OK. Mr DL is a large chap and managed the SYD-CNS leg without too much trouble.
You might come accross one of the VS staffers on an exchange on your travels too which is nice (we met Jetstreamer who posts on this forum).
