We are about to fly on VS007 to LAX and have been allocated seats 20H,K in PE which is fine. However on our return we were originally allocated seats on a 747, but this has now been changed to a A340-600, and we have been allocated Row 22A,C right in front of the toilets... Is there any way we can change these seats. When I checked on our reservation the flight looked to only have a couple of free seats and they were in row 23 - so even worse. Help please..

Hello and welcome to V-flyer. Only 60% of seats are available for pre-allocation and row 23 is probably the last of those. More seats will open at OLCI with the exception of exit rows and bulkhead seats. These latter are only allocated at the airport. If you use OLCI 24 hours before your flight more options will be available for you

Thanks for the prompt responses - should we get stuck with row 22 on the return, do these seats recline? We shall have to do the on-line check-in from LA the day before our return and may not have access to the internet till late on in the day so won't be first in line with the choices. thanks...

I really enjoy row 22! The front row is a nightmare as all the galley noise carries and the curtain is constantly opening and closing!

Row 22 will recline no problem and it really isn't that bad at all. Depending on how full the flight is some extra seats should become available at OLCI stage but this doesn't always happen.

I am slightly different to Galley Guy in that Row 18 is my fav on the A346 PE. As Honey Lamb said this is only available at airport check in, so if you can get there nice and early you have a good chance of bagging these (if they say they are blocked off just ask them nicely to make a call and get them unblocked).

Welcome to the site too!

I'd go with Neil - really am a fan of Row 18 on the A346, and always get to the airport early to bag them!

Thanks everyone for your input. I've been checking out this site for ages - since we decided to change from being loyal BA flyers to Virgin for our California trip and am glad I registered yesterday. Will do the OLCI this morning and see what comes up, otherwise have a go at the airport tomorrow. Thanks for the tips. Hope Virgin lives up to all the good hype.
