Seat advice - views out of plane, upstairs in UC

I am off to Barbados in November and through reading TR's on here I've worked out that being on the left hand side of the plane is the best for the views as the route takes you down the West coast and the views are excellent.
So with this in mind, I booked PE and choose my seats upstairs, on the left and thought that was that. Having checked them again I saw that we are now on a different configuration with PE downstairs and UC upstairs. The seats we have been given in my opinion aren't as good as I've flown in them before to New York and the wing gets in the way somewhat and I'll miss the views.
So I upgraded to UC to get backupstairs and away from the wing!!! Could someone tell me as I have never flown UC upstairs before as to which seats have the best views out of the windows upstairs or are they all much the same?

On UC upstairs you will be heavily slanted, and will have a bot of a hard time looking out anyway. If you sit a bit closer to the front you will be able to loosen your seat belt and sort of sit with your legs crossed on the suite, and turn more easily, without flight attendants (rightly) reprimanding you.
Not something i would obviously condone, but worth mentioning. [;)]
I'd go for 3 or 4 if you can get it, not too close to the lavatories. BTW, since it seems you are in UC on the LHR4 config, you might want to try getting rows 12 or 14 at check-in. They are the seats right into the nose of the plane - because of the curvature of the plane it is much easier there to get views outside of the plane.
Congrats on the upgrade - of the many reasons I can think of for upgrading, this has to be one of the most creative - I trust you will enjoy the rest of the experience too!

Sounds like they've allocated an LHR 747 (config 4) aircraft to this route on the day you're travelling. This means V:Port which is lucky!

Is it common for VS to do this? LHR ac replacing LGW ac I mean.

BGI has been serviced by an LHR configuration 747 fairly recently - but I can't remember whether they did this by shifting the route to ex LHR.

Yes Barbados has been moved to LHR so gets a VPort equipped 747.
So I upgraded to UC to get backupstairs
Class [y].
As per other comments, I'd go for 14 to 19 downstairs ...

LHR config a/c 54 J / 62 W / 228 Y operating LGW - BGI from 30th october to 22nd November. This is eiter due to high sales of J for this route at this time, or more likely reason is that it is covering LGW a/c maintenance.
Last year G-VWOW was at LGW for about a month operating the BGI route whilst the other a/c underwent maintenance so this is probably the reason again this year. Out of all the LGW routes, BGI is the easiest to sell extra J seats on.

Though I do remember there being a buy a PE return and get one leg upgraded to UC promotion.
I wonder whether the ideal mix on the caribbean routes would be limited J / extended W / reduced Y..
