Got my first companion ticket for renewal of AU [ii] - does anyone know if I book an economy ticket to somewhere like NewYork are these tickets ie the paid for one and the foc one upgradeable - obviously depending on availability.

Hi David,
As far as I'm aware the companion tickets aren't upgradable, you'll have to book a full fare ticket (J for upper, W/S for PE) for your class of travel, and I believe the companion will be ticketed as a reward seat on the same booking.

Yup, you can upgrade the paid fare but not the companion fare.
