Howard,

Thanks for this - it is interesting to see how things are similar and different to the present day.

This route was my first VS flight back in 1992 - only a Y PAX so did not see these luxuries!!

Great stuff Howard, I remember those old seats from my first UC (to San Francisco. The menu is interesting, wine selection a tad better than now and I'd forgotten the guest course option, might be one to bring back ...

Sherry and Ruddles beer.

I do remember being upstairs in PE out of LAX when a trolly loaded with bowls of strawberries wass wheeled up the aisle. You could see the whole cabin go green and plotting to distract the CC before stealing them.

I remember their champagne cocktail before takeoff was stunning - one glass and I just slept straight through.

I found myself at a loose end yesterday so scanned in half a dozen, but some were for other sites. I've been meaning to do this one for sometime but the technology wasn't on my side.

I only have a couple of hundred more menus to go.

Just looking though the VS menus I've 'borrowed' over the years.

The oldest one I can find is a PE/Economy one from the VS047 LGW>YYZ service which was from 17/08/2001. There's a bigger selection of food and drink on that than you get in J today [:w]

Regards

You can tell it was posh because they called lunch 'luncheon'. ;)
