VS026 Diverted

Anyone know why VS026 was diverted to Gatwick last night? Seems it was at Gatwick for about an hour; hardly seems the effort. Maybe they swapped planes!

It was a fire alarm at LHR control tower. Closed LHR for a while and then re-opened with only 1 runway.
the SIA A380 was also diverted to LGW, then had to short hop over to LHR a while later.

Yeh 2 VS ac diverted in along with the SIA A380 which sat at the end of the field for a couple of hours. Also some others came in a few BMI flights and the Jet Airways flight also diverted in.

Apparently they were diverting all over the place some as far as Birmingham but the heavies tended to divert into LGW

Thanks, that probably explains why my boss is in at work today as he was due to go out of LHR to Copenhagen last night.
