Hi all. Just realised that as FC Gold I can get the wife's account upgraded to Silver for free. So I've faxed off the form to VS.

I've asked them to give us the extra 25% miles earned on our recent trip as I was Gold when we took it - just hadn't got round to asking for the upgrade. What are the chances of them backdating the bonus element of the miles? Also - faxed this all off on Friday and she's still showing as red - are they quick at turing this round??

...oh and the trip was in Y - do you guys want a TR?? [y][n]

When i added my Mother as my supplementary Silver I think it took about a week before she was Silver.

As for the bonus miles, if you were Gold when you took the flight then you should have had the bonus miles so if you are claiming for these then you should get them. I was unsure by your comment whether you upgraded your flight to a different flight class and wanted the extra miles for that?

And as for the trip report - absolutely we want Y trip reports [y]

Haven't had any experience of claiming bonus miles when traveller was not technically qualified to receive them.

Part of me says it won't be a problem, as just good customer service - it is just a few miles.
Another part wonders how far the demand for belt tightening has reached. You can only ask. please let us know what happens.

As for the TR, there are never enough Y TRs on here, so it would be excellent if you have the time to post one.

Ah, I get you now. I am inclined to agree with Nick. You could certainly ask, though as she wasnt Silver when she took the flight I dont see that she is technically elligible for it. How long ago was the flight? If it was a matter of weeks i guess its not too cheeky but if its a few months ago or longer then it might be a different matter. Its entirely up to you on how important the miles are, though do let us know the outcome.

Definitely TR, too many TRs are concentrated on UC and PE only.
