Lounges at T3

I've finally come to terms with the fact that I'm not going to see the Clubhouse on this trip, so what are the other Terminal 3 lounges like? I'm thinking of using the Servisair one, but their lounge at Gatwick South is quite awful, there were more people in there than at the departure gate!

So I was wondering if anyone has used the paid for Servisair lounge - I think it costs 17.50 each.

I used the Servisair lounge at T3 last August. I was there from about 11.00 to 1.00 on a Tuesday and there were no more than 10 people in the lounge. It is perfectly adequate with comfy sofas, drinks (tea, coffee, soft and alcoholic drinks) and snacks (cheese, biscuits, cake, crisps). It is not a patch on the clubhouse, but it is an oasis of calm compared to the madness of T3.

There is quite a long thread about it here. It was started last year, but added to as recently as May this year.

Hi,

I've used the Servisair T3 lounge once and wasn't too impressed. It was a Friday night, packed and noisy. The snacks/drinks on offer are average. Only one Internet terminal was working. There was an England game on so I left early to wait out the remainder in O'Neills!

I'd vote for saving your cash.

I am guessing you are looking for your VS3 flight in a few days time. With this being an a fairly early flight, likely to start boarding say 8:30ish then I would say that T3 won't be *that* bad between 6:30-8:30am (by the time you have checked in and got through security.

The lounge opens at 6:30 and for a couple of hours in a relatively quiet terminal, you will not doubt have the usual look round duty free and Harrords, get an over priced coffee and then you will be on your way to the gate, each to their own of course, but I would save my cash to spend in NYC!

Thanks. I'll pocket the cash ;). So that's $60 for New York... hang on, $58, no... $55 ;)

We were on VS3 during July 07 and it was fairly quiet compared with later in the day. Security took 15mins max.

We were on a 9am flight in June on a Saturday morning. T3 very quiet indeed. We were using the CH but did have a wander around before going in as it didn't open until 7am. Between 6.10am and 7am T3 was dead air-side. Save your cash, as others have said!!

Hi Sealink

I think that servisair Gatwick south is awfull, everytime i have been in there, theres no seats left and i find its actually quite sterile, so i tend to sit in the terminal in the upstairs corner in a french/italian bar 'very nice'

T3 is a good terminal... if I don't have good free lounge access, then I would rather enjoy the shops and restaurants (maybe a glass of something sparklely and a snack at the Prunier/Caviar House...).

T3 at 8 am last week was heaving before I boarded the VS003 - fortunately after being in the lounge. Last week of August, I'd guess the same.

However, for 17 quid I'd go to the Chez Gerard and have a nice omelette and decent coffee in relative peace and quiet.

Agreed. Having done this every month for the last year with no lounge access Chez Gerard for breakfast wins for me. For some reason that corner seems quieter than the rest.

Is nobody AU/UC flying that day who could help?

I have a friend who may be able to arrange CH access, so I don't want to use up other people's good will. If it happens it happens, if not Chez Gerard sounds right up my street!
