Reading the new bunf online with VH it suggests upgrade tp PE or UCS doesn't earn miles, is this true or am I reading it wrong?

I always earned miles before when I booked Upper through VH.

From the VH site.

Please Note: UK chauffeur driven car transfers are not included in the Upper Class rates. Flying Club miles are not included in this supplement.

That text is incorrect.

All VH fares earn miles on VS.

They book you in the following fares for VS flights:

Upper: Z (hence the reason why no CDC)
Premium: H
Economy: V or N

See the V-Flyer fares info page for actual TP/miles earnings.

Thats what I was thinking, but also on VA partners it reads that we get 5% off holiday plus 2 miles per £ and standard miles for the flight might not be earned depending on booking class, I wonder if the new code for Upper earns miles.

The new partner terms, of 5% discount and 2miles per £1 spent has nothing to do with the actual miles you earn for taking the flight. They are just a different benefit instead of the 10% discount you used to get for being an FC member.

As James said, you will earn miles for your flight depending on which class your ticket is booked in. From Dec 1 the new miles earning comes in to effect, so for UC pax only J & D fares earn 200% of miles flown, and R & Z earn 150%.

I think VH have had that text up there for a while as i remember querying this with them years ago. Its not true, VH Uc fares will earn miles and tier points.

Thanks,
Sarah

I am suitably re-assured thanks. I tend to book two VH hols followed by DIY with VA direct
followed by using some miles, seems to work for me.

Was lagging behind in tier points because I used miles for December trip and was going to book a Vegas with VH for some tier points to stay silver.

I was just wondering about this myself. Rang up the FC helpline to check, and the guy I spoke to confirmed miles are awarded, but sounded a bit unsure.

But, assuming he is right, and I've just got a Black VS Amex card, is this right:

Holiday cost with VHols ca £4k - so 4x£1 earning = 16k miles. PLUS
Return flights upgraded to Z class to SFO = 18806 miles PLUS
One-off bonus on first use of card = 6000 miles

Total works out as 40,806 miles. Have I worked that out right?

Any confirmation/correction gratefully received.

Yep, you are exactly right. You can also earn 2x miles for every £1 spent for being a VS FC member making a booking with VH. You should let VH know you FC number and you will earn the extra miles also. this page on the VS website gives you the details about the VH earning possibilities (you will need to be logged in to your FC account)

Cheers Neil!

So in effect that's another 8,000 miles I should earn then.

Nice one.....
