FC miles when booking holiday to (not with VH)

Hi guys

Not sure where to post this so general it is!

Am looking at booking a holiday to Mauritius next year with Mark Warner (as I can get 40% off via my health insurance). They can give me flights with VS but as I am not booking with VS or VH can I still have the FC miles for the flights?

Also, has anyone been to the Hilton there? Any comments?

Thanks

David

It does not matter where the flight is booked. If you're on a VS flight on VS metal, you'll get the flying club miles.

We just got back from 10 days at the Hilton. Highly recommended.

Thanks Decker. Have you posted a review anywhere? I've looked into the place briefly and comments I've seen say that if you do the Half Board deal everything else (drinks, spa etc) are quite expensive? Any thoughts?

Didn't bother with a review but did send Diamond Desk a big thank you afterwards we were so pleased with them. We stayed on Points so had to buy all of our food and drink. I'm guessing that the 'expensive' comment is in relation to the island rather than London. There are supplements payable for the 'decent' restaurants if you're half board and I suspect this is the major bone of contention. As it was the Thai restaurant was about 70GBP for two with limited drinks. The lobster special in the posh restaurant came in around the same. Drinks were around £3 for a beer, £1.50 for a coke. My recollection is that we spent about £100 a day for the two of us. Spa treatments were at a European level cost wise. So it comes down to what the HB costs per day. Personally Half Board would have done as the breakfast buffet is expansive and the evening buffets have a great deal of variety.
