Yes, he's here tomorrow (Friday 10th noon) doing a book signing at the Times Square Virgin Megastore. You need to buy the book in advance and get a wristband, to get you in.
The guy on the till admitted he didn't know who he was until a few days ago. Don't they teach anything in inductions these days? Recognising The beardy One should he wander in should be high up on the list, surely?
So, if in town, you could meet the naked cowboy, or queue up and meet SRB for about 2 seconds.
See you there! [:D]

Well, he still needs to promote his book I guess. It was still open yesterday, I also bought 30 Rock series 2, discounted already and it only came out this week. Is it being renamed or just closing?

The one in Reading is now called Zavvi. No sign of Virgin anywhere.

All of the UK ones are now called Zavvi, the one in Hull is Zavvi but still has loads of Virgin Megastores signs on the floors, walls etc, not the best rebranding ever.

IIRC The UK Zavvi thing was a management buy-out. I suppose the Virgin name can only get you so far.
Virgin radio in the UK is no more, it is Absolute radio, or something. I heard that the reason they ditched the Virgin name was that the licensing agreement with Virgin limited their playlist too much. [?]
I hadn't heard that the US megastores were closing, the one in San Francisco seemed to be booming when we were in there. Having said that, given the competition from Best Buy and the online sellers, it wouldn't be a huge surprise.

I agree Nick, Virgin Megastores in San Francisco was packed when we were there, but to be honest that seemed due to a lack of any competition, we couldn't believe the lack of DVD/Blu Ray shops in SFO and LAS.

Apparently the ones in NY are closing, at least, because they're paying insanely low rent on both places. And I think it just so happens that the company that owns most of Virgin Megastores happens to also own both retail spaces.
