V-Flyer

Pls see subject. Am drinking a Mojito which is apparently now required that I am an occasional V-Flyer poster.

Claire seems well. She seemed quite amused that I only know about her from the crazy Brits and odd Americans on V-Flyer. [:D]

Oh dear! You have been away a long time, haven't you? The Blue Lagoon has been replaced by the Mojito in the clubhouse and the Tanqueray 10 and tonic with lime on board.

Even Aer John on his first expedition into the Clubhouse, once legally allowed to drink, had a mojito.

T10+Tonic = ok onboard (though I still prefer a nice V&T), and mojitos are ok in small doses...but I'll stick with the blue drinks in the CH thankyouverymuch [;)]

I've been to SFO CH a few times and now feel cheated as I don't remember Claire - I'm clearly missing out!

hehe... I remember my first time in the SFO CH, back in 06; I asked for one of those 'blue V-Flyer cocktails'!

I had two.

I didn't manage much breakfast in Revivals as I had a sore head!

Claire was missing for a time when VS outsourced staff in 2005. They then got sense and reinstated her a year or so later.

Alas, I too have missed her as she doesn't work weekends, including Fridays [:(]

Quite agree that the T10&T(WL) should be saved for on the plane. However - and I hate to say this Michael, really I do - having tried both the Mcuth Blue and the mojito (and both in the happy envrion of SFO Clubhouse), it's the latter that has my taste buds tingling like there's a cuban salsa dancer on amphetimines in my mouth. The Blue's a good cocktail though and - to be fair - mojitos do tend to be rather 'marmite'...

Every good flight starts with a Mojito or two [:)]

Personally, I have a couple of slices of granary toast and a pot of tea on arrival at the Clubhouse and a good read of the papers, then its normally Mojito time, but on my last flight i thought it would be rude to not at least try a Vesper. Be warned, they are rather strong and even my liver got a bit of a shock.

Ain't nothing but (mostly hard) liquor and a twist or olive in a (Dry) Martini, or a Vesper. It's not going to be to everyone's taste, that's for sure. Personally, I love 'em, though mine's with Plymouth Gin.

Lillet Blanc is Bordeaux's answer to vermouth; I came across a really good variation on the house drink, a Lillet Mojito, though speaking of liver damage substituting Lillet for Rum in your drink will definitely make it lightweight. But very tasty.
