There's something rather (perversely) amusing about 'Credit Crunch' posting about the ins and outs of an Upper Class flight! [y]

Quick answer - it'll get full, but not to the point of max. capacity or where service should suffer. The staff at the LGW Clubhouse are in the main, IMHO, slightly more service-orientated than many of those at LHR. They'll make sure you're well looked after.

I love the later MCO flight as once all the other flights have left it just leaves a few of you in the Clubhouse[y]

Hi and Welcome to V-Flyer.

As all the Gatwick Flights leave in the morning, it can get a tad busy at times, but not to the extent that you feel in any way crowded.

As Ela says, it is nice to have the place to yourself as it empties out and leaves only the VS 15.

The menu is of course breakfast orientated and mrs buns & I have never had cause to be disappointed with the service. Hopefully, your flight will not be delayed, but should it come to pass, rest assured they remain open until the flight is called[:w]

Make sure you book a treatment and visit the shoe shine man - if it is the regular guy, then he is well aware of V-Flyer, knowing many of the regulars.

I always believe my holiday starts the moment I enter the Clubhouse

I think that the LGW CH is lovely.A calm oasis in the vileness of LGW.Proper treatment rooms (the Back Down to Earth is fabulous),and very attentive service compensate for the lack of glitz (compared to the LHR CH).It can get busy early on but I've never seen it unpleasantly so. Enjoy.

I wasnt impressed with service in Gatwick Clubhouse, last couple of times I have sat down for around 30 minutes or so before anyone bothered to even acknowledge I was there, apart from the shoe shine guy...and it wasnt that busy

I've only been there the once on the Las Vegas flight, it was quiet when we got there, but soon got busy. I also though the service was prompt and friendly, and I had a long chat to the shoe shine gentlemen. The massage was good there too.

I think he missed out a 't' at the end of 'though' - easily done when the next word also begins with 't'

I've never had anything but fantastic service in the LGW Clubhouse, and I cant say that for the LHR Clubhouse where I have sat many a time and felt invisible whilst waiting to place a breakfast order.

Thanks,
Sarah

Absolutely agree - can't think why! [:p]

The LGW CH wins hands down for personal, friendly service in any CH.

My typing and spelling is terrible today.....

And I agree with Sarah, it can take ages to get served at your chair in the LHR Clubhouse, and I suspect a lot depends on where you sit.

Totally agree dragon - IS it my imagination, or has Gatwick general departure area got to be like a zoo! I don't travel UC very often, but have taken to booking places in a lounge if I fly from there, just to get away from the horror of it all...[:#]

Was in the lounge yesterday awaiting VS15.

Not busy at all - got there at about 9:45am. All vey nice...............except a group of foul mouthed muppets awaiting the Vegas flight.

I sat down for breakfast awaiting Mrs S and my daughter to join me after they had booked a treatment. Heard a few choice words, but it continued after my daughter joined us.

Spoke with the staff and they agreed and said they were going to have a word anyway, but they were due to leave in a few minutes anyway. God help the other U/C passengers on that flight if 8 of the 14 seats were taken my this mob.

Anyway - back on topic. Second time I have been in the LGW CH and both times have been relatively empty (bit spooky last time as VS15 was delayed 3 hours so it was VERY empty).

We were in there on the 21st. I have used it a number of times, probably six o seven? We were in econ on reward flights but they did let me and the current Mrs CJD in as well as my 4 and 6 year old but I think this was only because my wife and daughter had hair things booked.

We got there at 10 am as fast track security was great. By 10:20 I was eating my breakfast!

They were turning other AU holders away though who had kids which is always a bit rich as they have play area and it was empty.

Girls always very nice in there INHO

Thanks for the info everbody - really appreciated. Hopefully the VS15 wont be experiencing the current delays in 3 weeks time !!

By the way, does the CH stay open if there are 8-10 hour delays or do you get sent elsewhere ?

The ladies working there said they have to stay until the 15 goes as its the last flight. I am not sure if that means 8 hours mind you!
