FC miles/TP for non-flown restricted tix

I am sure this has been asked (but not sure where to look). However, I booked a D class UC ticket for a business trip in Nov. I was excited when I thought I was going because it would have given me a big leg up on renewing my gold. However, now it looks like I won't be able to go.
The ticket is fully non-refundable/changeable. Even though I won't actually step on a plane, VS has gotten the revenue (admittedly from my company but money is money) and in fact has made additional profit because I am paying for a seat I ultimately won't use. Therefore, I see an argument for being allowed to still earn the miles/TP.
Any chance that FC would agree? I'd be gutted if I lost my Gold status because I lost the TP from not being able to take this trip.

I'm pretty sure D's have some flexibilty wrt changes - is there any way you could change the dates/destination?
I'm pretty sure they won't give you the miles/tps otherwise I'm afraid - rules is rules.

Not a chance. If you dont fly, you dont earn miles/TP's, simple as that.

You won't get the miles or TPs and if you don't fly then at least cancel to get the taxes and surcharges refunded to your company.
Alternatively, it will likely cost your company less to upgrade the fare to a J and make it fully flexible, suggest you have someone check that out.

I remember a long discussion about this some time ago, and remember that the answer was that it was 'no fly, no points' despite the fact that the airline still get the money.
I will try and find the old thread, but seem to remember there was no logic to it, but just a fact.
Whether or not a plea to VS for your gold status to be continued would have any effect, unless you ask, you won't know.

Only way you can 'change' a DAP fare is to upgrade it to a J. Usually looking at £2-3k to do that.
Otherwise, no, they won't issue you TPs or miles. You ONLY earn them for flights FLOWN, full stop.
(The ONLY exception to the rule being if VS reroute you due to cancellation etc, onto a different carrier - THEN they'll honour the miles/TP's as if you flew with them)

If you upgraded to a J for a later date then I believe that would be fully refundable should you need to cancel later due to unforseen circumstances [:w]

Nope, sorry - not true.
The non-refundable PORTION of your ticket remains non-ref. It's explicit within the DAPx rules.

I think that rule is *probably* one that got introduced way way back when a few people most likely discovered the loophole!
Same applies for changing restricted Economy / PE fares up to their flexible equivalents. The non-ref amount is ALWAYS non-ref.
