VS second in Watchdog survey

Did anyone see Watchdog last night? VS voted 2nd favourite airline in a poll of 25,000 viewers - they got 15% of the vote [y]. BA were first with 19%. Given how many more passengers BA fly over VS that's a good result isn't it? I mean - the poulation may well have had many more BA flyers than VS - more than the results differential.

I thought it was a very good result considering that BA were also in the top 5 worse airlines to fly with.

I know I go for comfort over price, I would rather fly short haul with BMI or BA over the LCC and VS for long haul.

It's good to see Ryanair get slated over their pricing but until more and more people get fed up with them they'll carry on doing it.

Just be interested how they going to do their £8 flights to NYC. [:?]

Nice to see that VS only got 2% in the least favourite category.[y]

Never watch Watchdog normally, but I stumbled across it last night. Overall good results for VS, although I'm sure Singapore would have fared higher if as many people fly with them as they do with BA/VS.

Unless its short haul, wherein I don't really care, it always has to be comfort over fare.

I like that they consider frequent fliers to be those with more than 10 flights a year ... some of us must be way off the curve!

Terrible survey, basic questions, leaping assumptive conclusions made ... e.g. Q2 on whether a pax has faced a problem, becomes a severe problem in the table and then suggests the industry has major problems ... absolutely no qualification.

Mind you at least Michael O'Leary won't be quoting this in his rants and raves!

I would be interested to see all the responses equalized against the number of customers each airline has, this might present a very different view.

That's what I was trying to get at - I doubt they were equalised to be honest. Given this and that BA has shorthaul volume as well as more longhaul volume than VS, VS would probably be clear int he lead if the results were equalised!! [^][^]

Didn't help when they were doing the voxpops last night that some of the questions were leading.

e.g. What is your 'favourite' airline? and apart from two or three people automatically said BA, wonder why!
