VS Insurance

I have a work trip at the end of this week - when I booked I ticked the insurance option and was quoted an expensive 38 for the 6 day trip - as it was work and I need cover I took the offer.
I then had to to change the flight details (and paid 100 to do so) - the insurance details turned up in the post and predictably they had the original dates on them - no problem thought I I'll give VS a bell.
Ha - the view is that AIG will not change the dates and I can't get a refund - my only option is to take another policy to cover the 3 days not covered by the first policy - at a cost of...38 quid!
I complained to customer services (by email) a week ago - nada since [:(!]
So do i continue to tilt at this windmill or put it down as a lesson in life[?]
