Baggage Allowance to Dubai - BA vs Virgin?

Hi

Anyone on here know why VS only allow 23kg per passenger in PE on this route and one piece of carry-on and BA allow 2 46kg, plus 2 pieces of carry-on?

I'm doing a number of 1 month stints in Dubai with a week home inbetween and I just can't do it all in 23kg!!

Is this a mistake on VS part, or just greed from hoping on the excess baggage to kick in? [V]

It'll be connected to how much cargo they're carrying most likely...

It isn't specific to Dubai.

VS have a 23kg limit for economy and PE on their routes to South Africa, Australia, Asia and Mauritius as well.

See here, for details.

Transatlantic, Caribbean routes and flights to Nigerian and Kenya have an economy allowance of two pieces up to 23kg PE allowance of 2 x 32kg (subject to size limitations). See here, for details.

I would assume that Decker's cargo assertion is spot on.

if you're Au FC you can add an extra allowance, but agree, VS is stingy in PE.
