Sorry, No.

quote:The Flying Club member or authorised Flying Club account user can request one companion return flight reward with Virgin Atlantic, provided that the Flying Club member and the companion both travel on the same flight and date, and in the same cabin, and the Flying Club member's ticket has been purchased at a qualifying adult fare (see Table 1 below).

They are mostly useless, it's normally cheaper just to buy two tickets than one 'qualifying fare'.

That change to the T&C's is reasonably recenrt. You used to be able to book tickets for friends using the companion ticket but VS changed it a short while ago, probably because of members 'selling' flights on eBay through the vouchers. Its a shame as I've used the voucher before for friends and it was a nice benefit.

PokerSteve, depending on where you want to go you can get some bargains with the companion ticket. I have redeemed them before but you are really looking at x2 East Coast flights (NYC/IAD/BOS) in Premium to get the value from it. As Locutus says, quite often the price of two normal tickets is cheaper than one of the tickets needed to use the voucher but there are savings to be had at certain times of the year if you can be flexible with dates.

Thanks,
Sarah

Per my other posting, I've just booked a pair of miles tickets to LA, then upgraded them with a pair of Amex upgrade vouchers giving 2 x return PE to LAX for 250 or so each. You CAN sometimes get value from miles and vouchers but you need to be flexible where and when you go.
