Has anyone successfully done a status match recently?

I will be traveling quite a bit next year on routes that VS do not fly so getting a good status on some other carriers would be very useful.

BMI used to status match fairly easily, but I must confess I haven't seen it mentioned for months and I have never tried it myself.

BMI matched my VS Gold about 3 years ago and I know they will currently match BA Gold.

Worth joining BMI Diamond Club and then giving it a shot.

Im not aware of any official matching promotion going on at the moment.
