First and Middle Names on Tickets

Hello everyone,

This is my first post but I've been reading the Vflyer forums for ages and recently booked a trip in PE for June, LHR-SFO then ORD-LHR. I followed the instructions on the VA website to the letter - however when I logged in to 'check my booking' I noticed my first name and middle name were displayed together as one word i.e. Adamdavid Turner. My passport has my first and middle names on the same line. I immediately rang the VA customer services who repeatedly assured me that there was nothing to worry about as this accurately reflects what is printed in my passport; albeit with the 'space' missing between my first and middle names. I was wondering if the experts agree with what I've been told or should keep trying and get my middle name removed or 'spaced'. It wasn't until I logged into 'check my booking' that it said clearly middle names were unnecessary. I rely on reading things carefully in my occupation so I'm sure this wasn't mentioned when I entered the details. Your thoughts?

I agree, at the end of the day it is Virgin who would refuse you travel if the names on the documents didn't match correctly and if their CS people are telling you it will be ok then it will be ok. For peace of mind I would ask them to either make a note in your booking or send you an email confirming all will be ok to save any potential (although unlikely) problems at the airport.

Hi,

Welcome to VF! It is fine, I work in travel and we often put names together, especially surnames as we can not ticket bookings with hypens. In your case first and middle names are the same. Check in deal with this on a daily basis.

Have a good trip.

Dominic

I just booked tickets on Virgin through Continental codeshare, and they came up the same way: FIRSTMIDDLE LAST.

I was worried and I was about to call the airline, but I saw this post.

My booking was exactly the same. It's fine.
