Hi All, I am new to V-flyer as well as to VS. It has been interesting to read various threads on different subjects. We will be taking our first VS flight to MIA on 30/01. Unfortunately we will have to be in the'cheap seats' this year as I work for a 'travel company' and have used staff concessions to book hols to Key West. (They don't run to PE let alone UC[:# Bearing in mind the cheap deal, what are the chances of purchasing either a PE upgrade on the day or failing that seats 31a and c or 51a and c and what are the best ways of going about it?
Am really looking forward to our first VS flight, have previously flown the now defunct XL and BA among others and both offered a pretty decent standard of service, but have always wanted to give VS a try.
Any help and tips gratefully accepted.

Welcome to V-Flyer.

With regard to purchasing an upgrade to PE on the day, Expert Flyer is showing PE to be nearly full so there may not be availability. In addition it might be quite expensive as you may well be on the lower fare buckets in Economy. However it does no harm to ask but you might be better off calling VS before then to enquire about prices and availability.

With regard to rows 31 and 51, they are exit rows and only released at check-in at the airport so to be able to ask about them you need to be there when check-in opens.

Hope this helps

Row 31H & K (on a 340-600 config 1) are exit row but obviously not bassinet seats. However the middle, bulkhead seating is available for pax needing skycots.

If the flight is full you may well be charged £50 for each pax if you want to sit there. If you read my recently post TR you'll see what we thought that it was well worth the money. [:D]

Many thanks, have checked your recently posted TR - was interesting especially the part about not driving directly to Keys. Will bear that in mind should the unthinkable occur and we get delayed! Will bear in mind your advise regarding exit row seats.

Thanks for the advise. I have read through, some other threads and am I right in thinking that check-in opens as early as 6a.m. or is it 3 hours before dept time? With regard to fare class we will most definitely be in the lowest fare bucket if I know my company!![:(]

Welcome to V-Flyer [y]

You can check-in for any VS flight at the airport as soon as check-in opens, which is about 06:15

If you want to upgrade on board it's £300 per person, depending on availability.
Loads at the moment for your flight are: 17 spare in upper / 3 spare in Premium and 42 spare in economy so you might have to room to spread out down the back.

Thanks for the info. Looks like we may be better staying down the back.Going to be really cheeky now and ask how the return flight is looking on Feb 13th (Friday the 13th[:0]Would really like to get some sleep as we have a 5 hour lay-over before catching our next flight home.
