Cancellation of miles flight

I booked a miles flight for my Daughter yesterday who now has to cancel.
Will I lose my miles and taxes I have paid for the flight?

With you only booking yesterday, you should be able to get a full refund of both miles and taxes. All airlines have a cooling-off period once you make a booking.
Not sure how long you have but I think it might be 48 hours once the ticket has been issued.
If the ticket has been issued, VS should allow you to defer the reward flight booking for up to 12 months at no extra cost.
