In case anyone is not familiar with Quidco, Virgin are a retailer on that site, and now pay 3% cashback on the base fare, i.e excluding Taxes and Surcharges.

This means, that the cashback figure on a 1000 total cost, will cover the 1.3% Credit Card surcharge I had to pay last week. The flights tracked at around 470.

Quidco is a cashback co-operative that charges a 5 annual membership fee, and has many regular online shopping companies.

Presume you'll not get the 4 miles/£ on the black card through them though?

You still book through the VS web site, just access it via Quidco, so you still get all your miles, so you can't lose!

Yup, paid with my Black Amex card, so I am expecting 4 x Miles.

Also worth pointing out that there are many other airlines & travel/hotel websites on Quidco too, as well as lots of other retailers too.

For example:

BMI = 4.5% cash-back
Expedia = upto 7.5%
Virgin Holidays = 4%
Hilton = 6%
Sheraton = 6%
Westin = 3%
Travelex = upto 0.55% (only a small amount but better than nothing!!)
BA holidays are on there but not BA flights

You really have nothing to loose using Quidco and it's more than worth the £5 a year they charge (which they only take from your cash-back earned too, so there's nothing to pay up-front either) [:)]

It's just a case of remembering to start from the Quidco website rather than clicking one of your favorite links.

Just to add, that hertz are on Quidco as well.

They used to give £10 per booking which was great for mile w***ing, but now only give 10%, which is ebtter than a poke int he eye with a sharp stick.

For flight only bookings, Virgin is quite good at 3%. Expedia up to 7% doesn't apply to flight only bookings - but they don't have a credit card charge.
For my flight, I was originally looking at mixed cabins out and back, which Expedia (in fact, most websites except airlines direct) can't seem to do.

So booked with Virgin, then half way through decided to keep same cabin both ways and pressed confirm. After paying £13 in credit card charges! But did get Quidco.

And where Quidco can be real useful is when buying car/house insurance. If you ever wondered why confused.com can spend so much money on advertising, it's due to the commission they earn. I bought our hoem and contents insurance last year via Quidco and got £120 cashback.

There are some reasonable levels of cashback commission for taking out an AmEx too.

I managed to get Mrs JPs car insured for about £20 last year with the quidco cashback of £120 taken into account(there isn't anything quite so generous at the moment but the rates do change quite frequently).It wasn't as cheap this year with a 17 year old learner added to the policy [:0]

My Quidco savings over the last 2.5 years have amounted to £370+. The majority being Insurance Cashbacks.

I got a great cashback on home insurance and my mobile phone contract. Although clicking on links from V-Flyer helps fund this site... Image
