FC Questions

Could anyone please help me with a few FC questions.

Recently flew BMI and wanted to collect FC miles. Faxed BMI twice (no response) then phoned, each time giving both DH's and my own FC numbers. And then showed cards at check-in.
DH has received FC miles for both outward and return journeys, I haven't received mine.
Am I better off filling in the form (and sending boarding cards etc) to ask Virgin to sort it out, or should I contact BMI?

Other question(s) is about FC numbers. When looking to see if the mileage had been posted, I happened to notice that our FC numbers have changed. Don't know when this happened except sometime between May 2008 and now.
Is this because we moved up to Silver?
If so, will they change again if we drop back down to Red?
And will any mileage earned with partners that have my old FC number eventually get to me?

If it isn't because we moved to Silver, could anyone please explain why the numbers have changed.

Hi there,

The best thing to do is send the stubs to FC by Recorded Delivery. It can take an age to get them credited, but, VS will say that it can take up to 6 weeks for partner miles to credit in the first instance so it might be worth calling them again before sending the stubs in just incase yours are in the back log.

Regarding FC numbers, yes they change when you move up the tiers but it shouldnt matter if your numbers change as they'll be linked together in your profile, so miles earnt on the old Red number will still credit to your Silver account, and yes, if you go back to Red you'll get a new number. Still might be worth mentioning this when you call, just in case [:)]

Thank you for the information.

My impatience got the better of me and I phoned BMI. (Always such a joyful experience!) After trying to fob me off with various things, the chap did say he had now credited me with the FC miles and they'd appear on my account within 24 hours. But I'm afraid I have no faith in this because I don't think he really understood a word I was saying. Still, you never know.

If they don't appear within the 6 weeks then I'll send the stubs off to FC. (If he credits me with Diamond Club miles instead then I shall scream!)

Hmm... I've only ever had FC do the crediting of miles, never the partner. I wouldnt be surprised if you end up with DC miles but I bow to the knowledge of those who may know more.

Note that if DC do give you miles, VS likely wont as you cant claim twice, and trying to get DC to do a refund can be quite a chore.
