I'm looking to fly LHR-LAX in June. I can book to fly VA through Continental and it works out approx 60 cheaper for the same flights but whats the situation with Flying Club points and TP's?

Thanks

Do you receive TP's as if its a Continental flight then?

I suppose it depends what class you are flying. I'd happily pay 60 more if it included the clubhouses and revivals!

Definitely. I went through a stage of flying BRS-EWR on Continental. Around about the same miles as on VS, but only 1 tier point each way on CO metal.

Good service, smaller planes and if you're in economy you stand a good chance of getting an exit row seat if you check-in 24 hours in advance. But take a laptop - hadn't seen TVs in the ceiling for a few years!!

Continental have upgraded their entire TATL 757 fleet to be AVOD in both classes, so arguably better entertainment than VS' LGW and A343 fleets [8D]

Just checked that out on the CO website - touch-screen AVOD looks great! 7 inch in BusinessFirst and 9 inch in Economy!
I have a colleague flying over tonight so he'll be delighted.

I considered flying CO from DUB to PHL and onward to GSO later this year. I could live with it being a 757 - after all the original transatlantic flights had been on 707s with only one aisle and in the UC section of a VS 346 had the same feel. What had dissuaded me (apart from the low mileage and TPs) was the fact that the fare was twice the price of the VS fare sale in UC even taking into account the additional charges with regard to VS, of a flight to/from LHR to ORK and to/from EWR to GSO.

I think the OP is talking about the VS flight on the CO Codeshare.

I've got exactly the same issue with getting to LAX in June also (In Y)

So if I've got this right, the CO codeshare flight will only earn 1 TP per leg, but I will earn 100% of the mileage flown and not the 50% that VS offer on all discounted economy flights.

Would I be able to use VS online check in?

Yes I was referring to buying a ticket on VS7 or VS23 through Continental.com in Y. I'd like to buy direct and I've waiting for weeks for a VS Sale to LAX in May/June!

I've been in the same boat. The VS fares were down to 340ish a week or so ago, but couldn't book as things were not finalised. Now I'm sorted at this end there's nothing there.

Would prefer a VS ticket, as I would just about scrape silver again this year.
