In the ongoing headache that is my folks trip in NZ, turns out SQ haven't posted miles to FC for the LHR-SIN leg.

My mothers lost the infamous boarding stubs, so I am suggesting they approach SQ at SIN on their return next week, to try and get some proof of travel & ideally post FC details to this leg?

Is this the best course of action (assumed would have more chance of something being done at the SIN hub rather than back in Blighty)
What sort of proof etc would FC need if you can't find the stubs?

The SIN-ACK leg posted on their account instantly.

Any suggestions on how to tackle this one, as I'm not wanting them to miss out on much needed mileage because some LHR SQ check-in forgot/ couldn't be arsed to put the details in.

Can't help on advice I'm afraid.
I flew on the 12th and they haven't arrived yet - I even got them to double check at LHR that the details were on the booking - playing a waiting game now as I don't think I can yet claim.

I must say things seem remarkably slow in the FC partner mileage review. I am still waiting for miles to post from three early February NZ flights--all of which had my VS FC number on boarding pass and was credited for only one thus far.
I filed a missing mileage and sent in the boarding passes--nada. Sent an e-mail--was told to call FC. Called FC--was told they had no record fo the BP having come through the US 'office' and that they are all sent to Crawley. Called FC UK and was told no record but they will look into it.
My question is more around wondering what the process is for credting partner miles on VS when the FC number is clearly marked on the BP--anyone know what happens next?

FC can be a real stickler for wanting the boarding stubs, even though the e-ticket and your SIN-ACK leg crediting should be enough to show that you really did take the flight. Its sometimes a case of finding a sensible person to talk to over at FC. I have found that SQ are getting better at crediting points, a few years back it seemed like each SQ flight would result in an automatic manual claim - and you rarely got your stubs back.

Thanks,

On checking their live 'viewtrail' through Trailfinders, I just happen to note that their rtn legs were showing as cancelled...
Obvious call happens to TF who in turn ring SQ - Apparently they were down as a 'no show' or very late chk-in (3.5hrs I'd of thought was plenty of time!!) on the LHR SIN leg.
(this brings back the issue with the idiot that was on the desk at SQ in LHR again) - hence no FC miles!

This was then picked up when they eventually board the SIN-ACK leg (they'd obviously walked there, given they'd apparently missed the LHR flight!), All flight details then reinstated which is peace of mind.

I see the chance of them gaining any FC miles & TP for this first leg getting more remote, all because someone on chk-in was having a bad hair day & had chipped a nail..

It may not be the 'idiot' on the desk.

My Jet Airways Boarding passes issued by Virgin at LHR, were reissued at Mumbai, with the correct flying details and they have jet to appear on my account, nor have the Bangalore to Chennai flight I took.

Today I mailed off my E-Tickets and Boarding stubs, as somehow I managed to save them (Miracle)

Incidentally, American Express have no way of providing a copy of an E-Ticket once it's been moved from their online service. They used to email you the content, now all they do is send you a link which appears to expire pretty quickly. For this trip confirmation they had to contact Virgin Revenue and get a confirmation of the ticket classes and the fact I flew !

Yes my words may of been harsh to the front line, but come on, it can't be that hard to allocate miles across from agreed 'partners' can it?
If your information is passed across at your point contact in the proper format- you expect, naively perhaps, that this information is logged correctly- Said systems appear to allocate your seats & lugguage 90% of the time, why not this simple FC number & corresponding flight code?

A seemingly frustrating/ maze ridden route enabling FC to avoid posting miles as many (my folks included) who are thinking 'is it worth all the hassle'.

Well on a positive note, all appears to of been resolved.
FC requested a letter from SQ confirming attendance on the flights.
SQ took this as no problem at all and mailed out by return.
Then we sent to VS FC with accompanying letter (copy of SQ letter kept for good measure)
3 weeks later said miles & TP's appear on account (both of them)

moral of the story- keep hold of stubs, failing that a letter confirming travel appears to be adequate and in this instance partner airline supplied instantly.

I flew with SIA 6 weeks ago and after 4 weeks hadn't received the miles so made a missing miles claim, which FC have had for 2 weeks now and not yet posted. I rang them today and spoke to a very helpful agent who enquired for me and rang me back. Apparently FC have a huge backlog of partner claims. She said that as of today they are processing missing miles claims received on the 3rd April
(so about 5 weeks backlog). She promised to chase it up for me as i want to use the miles for a reward flight.

Spookily when i got home from work i had a letter from FC posted a few days ago to acknowledge my claim. It says they have to contact SIA for verification prior to crediting the miles which can take up to 30 days. So if they have to contact SIA to verify you took the flight what's the point of sending in the boarding stubs which are supposed to show you boarded the plane and flew?

So another possible 4-5 weeks wait.[n]

I don't know if this will make you feel better or what, but today I got credited with miles for the MO in Tokyo at the end of January

I am due to fly SIA so just wondered if I should send the stubs to FC straight away on my return or wait 6 weeks before doing anything? It is a VS flight but on a SIA plane so not sure if this makes a difference?

Many thanks

I'd scan them or decent photocopy so you keep a clear record and get the originals sent off. what's the worse that can happen double count..

Jacki,

If you have booked the flight through VA and have tickets with the VS flight number (and I guess if you can see the flight in your FC account) then ISTBC but i would be sure the miles will be posted ok almost immediatly after the flight. If not you can use the online claim for missing VA miles, and they should get credited straight away.

Even though it's on SQ metal the flight will be a VS codeshare (if that makes sense) Mine were booked direct with SQ (as they were 250 cheaper each pax than VS.

We had an SQ ticket and not a VS one, so SQ have to post the miles and they are notoriously slow if they ever actually do it! That's why we have had to claim missing partner miles.

If that's the case i'd check your account a few days after the flight and they should be there. Just keep the boarding passes and a copy of the e-ticket just in case you do need to send them in though

Thank you Chumba, it was booked through VA with a VS flight number (Virgin UC out but SIA back - we wanted to try out the A380) so I may be lucky.

So that they can check that you haven't already claimed miles through a different partner or krisflyer.
