AU Card...it's the little things....
Posted: 09 Apr 2009, 21:59Well, I had wanted to hop over to the UK this weekend to see the family for Easter, plus it's my birthday. I had been looking for flights for a while, but they had been expensive. Happened to notice this week that there were a couple of flights this Friday night that were cheap in Economy, as in $455 roundtrip cheap (unfortunately PE is still over $2k). However, I couldn't find a car at Heathrow, everyone was sold out, both online and I called 3 or 4 of the big ones.
A call to the Gold card number, and a very helpful person at the other end of the phone managed to get me a car for the long weekend, from Alamo (who had told me they were sold out) for only $120. So thanks to Virgin, without whom I would probably not get home this weekend. [:D]
