Hi [:D]

Been aggggggeeessss since I posted on here. I'm still in NZ and due to several trips back and forth to the UK, I was able to use airmiles for a wee jolly back in September.

Had originally wanted to go business class back with SIA (150k) but they've stopped all business and first class redemptions [:(!] So, after much flexibility with my dates, I've managed to get NZ AKL-HKG and VS HKG-LHR RTN. Only economy on NZ but upper class on VS [:D]

It's my first flight on VS for a long time. Really looking forward to it, although a wee bit nervous, cause I've never traveled this far by my self before

Hi Millie moo!

Good to see you back again. Don't worry about flying long journeys with VS on your own. I do it all the time and I am well looked after by VS

Hi, Thanks :)

I've mainly traveled on NZ the last couple of years or so either in premium or business, so it'll be fun to see if VS is still as good as I remember. I detest LHR, so the thought of premium check in and then the Club House, makes me less nervous.

Hi Milliemoo

I find the HK CH seem extra attentive if you are on your own. I am sure you will be fine.

Thanks [:D]

I've got about 6 hrs, so plan on taking a shower etc while I've got the opportunity. So by the time I've done that, straighten my hair, put on some slap, It'll be time for boarding lol [:p]

Where did that info come from?

It certainly matches my own experience of trying to book SQ seats with VS miles - in the end I gave up. Was it quoted to you as a new official policy? I wonder if it is a permanent thing. [?]

Welcome back. I wouldn't worry flying on your own all that way, have been doing it many years from the age of about 9 years old on varoius airlines. However in UC on VS will be great and no doubt look after you well.

Hi Guys & Thanks [:D]

Nick, yup it was quoted as official policy [n] The nice chap at FC had originally known nothing about it, but after booking (or so he thought) my flights, they came back unconfirmed and he couldn't get any other dates, he went to investigate.

All business class and first class redemptions on SIA have been suspended until further notice. [:(!]

I thought it might have something to do with their new A380's but my bookings weren't even on them.

p.s Must get my membership sorted out [:I]

Hope other airlines don't follow suit, that would be very disturbing.

I have a (first time) trip to NZ from NYC in Jan next year - any suggestions how to redeem my miles and do that, maybe via Air New Zealand partner miles, out of LA?

or should I go from London>HK on VS, (could arrange to be in London for Xmas, I guess) and then change like you?

It must be with a flat/ near flat bed - I've been too spoiled in UC, have many miles to spare, oh, and its an extremely Looong Waaaay)

anyone done NYC>NZ using miles and can chime is?
