I've just flown an N class leg and received two tier points for it. Looking at the website, there is now no mention of only receiving one tier point for N class legs. When did this change?

You didn't mention which flight you were on. If it was a US or Caribbean flight, then one tier point per sector on N class tickets is all you get I'm afraid. [:#] Check it out on the 'fate codes' tab on this website.

No, get you should now get 2 TPs for each transatlantic N class leg.
See the
VS website, for details.
It changed 1st December last year - the miles went down and the TPs went up.
See
this thread, for a discussion from around that time.
It just hasn't been updated on the V-Flyer fare code guide yet. [:I]

That is not correct. On all economy fares, including N class, you earn 2 TP's each way for all flights apart from SYD (which is double TP's). This changed late last year when they introduced the new mileage earning system. On a discounted economy fare (Q,X,N) you only earn 50% of the miles flown now.

I knew that the miles went down last year; I didn't realise that the tier points had increased at the same time. Good to know; there's now no advantage of X over N.

Yep, Q, X, N are all the same now for TP's and miles earned. Q and X fares should be slightly more flexible/changeable than N however, although not by much, if anything.

I just called up reservations to find out if N fares still only earn 1 TP per leg. The agent told me they do, so I booked an X for me and an N for the other half. It's a good job I Googled this issue while I was still on the phone and found this thread! After making her double check, I'm getting my ticket re coded and my credit card refunded the 30 I thought I was paying for those tier points.
Thanks again v-flyers!

It is very annoying that agents are giving incorrect information out still, I do wish VS would ensure they no at least the basics.
