I have just booked four PE seats to NY for July. Firstly I am a bit confused with the seats allocated on the way out (this will be my first time flying from heathrow). We have been allocated 31 h/k and 32 h/l. The aircraft is a 747-400 (seat config 3), but when i go on to the seat map these seats show economy. Please can anyone help. Also on the return flight we are on an Airbus A340-600 and have been allocated seats 21a/c and 22 a/c - does anyone know if these seats are good.

Any help appreciated.

It is the 747 seat config 4 (LHR), config 3 is the LGW/MAN fleet, so that should clear up your confusion (this is based on the V-Flyer seat maps).

If you can on the A346 I would try and move to rows 20/21 rather than 21/22, although it is not a major problem. Row 19 does not have a proper window so avoid that if you want one.

Agreed. The window for 19 is there but it's well forward of the natural seating position.

why 20/21 rather than 21/22?

Slightly further forward, quicker off and most importantly, the PE bog is behind row 22!

Exactly my reasoning also.

I would also try and go to the H/K side if possible, most people tend to board down the A/C side so you get served your pre-flights drinks etc after the H/K and we never got offered any top ups either on that side as there was always pax stood in the aisle.

Thanks for all your replies. Have tried to move to rows 20 and 21, but 20 has already been taken. 21 and 22 H/K side is available should I move over?

It won't make a vast amount of difference, but personal experience has lead me to choose/prefer the H/K side over the A/C side, others might disagree.

I would keep with 21 and 22 this means all of your party can recline there seats without worrying about who is behind you!!

Recline is just as generous on 22 as it is of 21.

Also there is an equal number of people boarding down both aisles as there is 225 seats in economy so roughly 110 people down both aisles..

I suggest boarding last so you dont get everyone queing past you... just my opinion.

KEEP 21 and 22 THOUGH!
