APIS

I logged into my VA account a while back, I looked at my upcoming flight, it says to enter APIS details. I fill it out, save, and go on my merry way.

I logged back in recently and saw it asked me to enter these details again, which I did. Subsequent times I log in it keeps asking me to enter APIS details.

Its seems to be dropping the Hotel name every time, but the address and other information remains.

Should i just ignore [:w] it as a glitch in the system. I have filled out the ESTA form online

I wouldn't worry about it now. If you are planning on doing OLCI, there is the API screen there anyway, so just fill it in one final time when you are doing this. Same thing has happened to me before, I think it is a small glitch in the system.

I noticed that it had dropped the hotel name when I checked in online. I simply completed that bit again and carried on...

If only I could do OLCI, have tried numerous times before, but the system doesn't allow me to.

Have to check-in the old fashioned way. Here, whenever I fly to the US, I get pulled for extra security at check-in . Then have had to wait for anything from 5minutes to an hour for a senior manager to 'have a chat' with.

Anyone shed any light on what the issue is here?? Am i just unlucky?? my only indiscretion in life was 3points for speeding 10years ago....

My guess would be that you name is the same as, or very similar to, one on the many 'lists' that Immigration Officials work from.

The hotel name field has never held the info you enter. VS still also think I'm female too as the gender still defaults to female.

I've never ran into any problems yet.

That happens to me too. Perhaps we should form a club.

I concur with Nick's explanation

I also cannot check-in online. In addition, the check-in staff at LHR invariably pick-up the phone and just utter my name. Realising this was happening every time I final asked what was going on. I was told that somebody with my name was on a 'Government Watch List' and that this was a required procedure to ensure I was not that person! I can only assume that there was a camera somewhere overlooking me.

Being on the Watch List is a pain!

The airline is supposed to check your passport & birthdate to confirm you are not the listed person - if you are not then they should update their database - it should not happen again.

Needless to say, airlines do not do this - so lots of pax are complaining to TSA. Homeland Security is getting annoyed by these complaints! Airlines really should not annoy HS.[}:)]

They are now saying that they will fine airlines who persist.

So you could complain to TSA - they will then deal with VS - or you could be nice and tell VS you will give them the opportunity to correct their database [:w]

edit to add redress link

OK so it seems that all males who fly VS are really women, and some (men and women) are potentially wanted.

So what's new [:w]

Thanks for the info Bill S. I will nicely highlight to VS if there is an issue on this trip. making my first UC flight, so dont wanted to be branded troublesome or else I'll come off the TSA's list and end up on VS's watch list which is probably even worse to be on! [:0]
