I think we all have our personal favourites for different reasons, mine personally is in the A Zone, others will prefer upstairs. If you want quietness then probably upstairs is your best bet.
Check out the seat ratings page for some other opinions.

Like Neil said it is all down to what you want out of the flight, if you are travelling alone etc. Some feel upstairs on a day fight is too quiet (but good if you need to work) some prefer Zone B as you are near the bar and has a nice atmosphere etc. Check out the ratings on here also
http://www.seatguru.com is always a good guide.
Thanks Dominic

What ever happens dont take the upstairs closest to the stairs & galley as these are very noisy with the noise of food preparation clanking of plates etc and general cc hanging around to chat, if you want to sleep that is?
cheers

Go A zone all the way - amazing now they've got rid of the massage station, and wider seats than upstairs!!

[y] I agree, more spacious cabin, no through traffic, better window views too!

Upstairs gets the vote from me.

My preference is Zone A. Upstairs is too hot for me and with the trafic to the cockpit - too busy to rest properly. Zone B seems a poor relation to Zone A - being stuck behind the nose and next to PE.

Too hot, even with with two air vents for each suite?
Personallly I prefer upstairs but as someone said earlier, we've all got our own preferences. I slept brilliantly in 7k recently SFO-LHR.

If you must pick your seat, please retire to the WC. Thank you and enjoy your trip!

Is something wrong then with being next to PE? [:?]
Sometimes you'll often find people desperate to move into B zone when there's a screaming child in A zone! [:w]

That goes without saying ...... [:p]
In the end, it's the feeling of being a crowd that does for zone B IMO. In the olden days when they'd just rolled out the suite and BH and I were first experimenting the SFO-LHR offering, we'd do zone B to have the dividers removed. We soon realized that given how unlikely it was that we'd do anything different than if we were in separate seats, it wasn't worth it. Now the removable dividers are gone.
For me it's always a struggle to pick upstairs or zone A. Without the Inflight therapist on board, most seats in Zone A are really quiet, just don't pick the ones closest to the galley/toilets. What they also offer is a LOT of space in front of you, unless you are in the 12/14 seats, so they are really a lot more private than upstairs.
Upstairs seems to attract just because you get to go up those stairs. I like that too, but as others have said I wouldn't take it especially on a night flight if it's seat higher than row 7. It's noisy, and you might actually end up better off in the middle of Zone B.

I meant the through traffic Tinks - honest [:w]
Seriously, I love Zone A - it works for me [y]

And yes to the sarcastic comment from 'daywalker' - even with 2 vents I FIND it TOO hot - each to their own I guess [ii]

I wasn't being sarcastic at all, I was just asking the question.
I usually find cabins far too hot for my liking too but upstairs in the suites with the two air vents has always been perfect for me as I can get the temp just right for my liking so I was surprised by your comments, that's all [ii]
