Hi All

We've been considering a Napa Valley raid in November, going out Premium to SFO and coming back Upper.

Yesterday this was at 1300-ish, yet today it's 1700-ish. The reason is the return leg (Z class) has gone up 400, with the Premium (K) leg out staying the same cost.

The dilemma - do I book now, and blame myself for not booking yesterday, or do I hold off, remain poker faced, and believe(!) it's going to come down again before November in some sort of sale or another?

Or do I book both ways in Premium (900ish) and monitor the Z return legs, and upgrade the return leg when the price is sensible (I did this for only 9 on a forthcoming IAD trip)

I'm looking for the same, out end Dec back early Jan. Out PE, back UC, I'm, personally holding off. There was an UC sale that ended at 10pm last night, so that may account for the fare difference. I couldn't book during this as it didn't go up to the dates I need.

I'd book an S class fare both ways in PE, and then look for a mileage upgrade.

Looks like Vs were pretty definite in not matching BA this time round[:(!] Even to the extent of not extending their sale by one day[:0]

Thanks to everyone who responded. Barnstable's (very good) idea doesn't work for us as we can't go until November (BA offer is only on flights to 31st Oct)

I think I'll take UKCobra's suggestion - book PE and lurk around for an upgrade in a sale or something - it worked for me in June's trip to IAD where I got an UC upgrade for only 9 - the best 9 I've ever spent on Virgin :)-
