Companion Flights

I know to get a free companions flight you need to book a qualifying fare and have the miles (of course) but are there always companion flights available or are they limited, whether or not you pay the qualifying fare?

It seems the more I find out about fc miles, the more it seems a bit of a taskto make decent use of them.

There needs to be reward availability (G, U or T) in the class you want, for you to use a companion voucher/miles, just like any other mile/voucher based reward.

That is absolutely true; and the art of making the most of your points is the original raison dtre for this site.

We have evolved from that, but it is still a huge part of these forums. There are a lot of experts here, who will be able to advise and guide people through the apparent minefield.

Where, and when are you looking to travel? Both of these are very important when asking about possible availability. For example - reward seats to MCO in school holidays are difficult (but not impossible) to come by.

Let us know what you are looking for and, hopefully, someone will be able to tell you (often from personal experience) if your quest is feasible or not.

Also make sure you check that 2 of your preferred route's cheapest available seats don't come out less or similar to, buying one Qualifying fare- which can often be the case, especially in the current climate of sales
