5000 is a lot to get quickly without buying them. There are the usual, CC sign up bonus miles, Virgin Wine bonus sign up miles, hotel stays, car hire etc, but firstly these won't actually hit your account that quickly and non of them offer the 5000 you need.

5 car rentals, normally post the day after, don't know what the cost is compared to just buying them, but they are the quickest way I have found.

Sign up to the E-Rewards system.
Transfer miles from another Loyalty Programme.
You could get 5000 miles for an ISA, not sure if they still offer that, although 2 issues, firstly they did n't automatically add them, I had to chase 3 times, and secondly, they say they only add them after 30 days after your first DDebit goes out.

Buying 5,000 miles wouold cost you 90 so it depends on why you want them and if you think 90 is a good price for them in that instance or not.
Mostother ways would probbaly cost you more. V Wine is I think 750 miles but you get a case of wine but the cost will still be approaching 90.

Oh if 5k miles is only 90 quid, go that route, cheaper and easier than anything else.

Wtih the current Hilton offer of triple miles, stay two nights in two different hotels for 6,000 miles - normally post within 72 hours of checking out. Would need to be 2 seperate stays and you really do need to check in (so no looking for the cheapest rate nationally and not showing up, they are wise to this). Also not available on some already discouted rates (e.g. the spring break offer, many of the advance purchase rates).

You used to get 5000 miles for signing up with Virgin Casino,it is worth looking to see if they still do it.
IIRC You deposit and play with about 30 quid to qualify, I played blackjack for about 5 mins, won 40,withdrew it and never revisited.
The miles appeared quite quickly I think. Thank you very much,a pleasure to do business with you[;)]

Beware...my bonus miles have not been coming through and when I questioned this with Hilton I was told
'The promotional miles will be credited to your frequent flyer account six weeks after the promotion has ended'
Of course that may be major BS and if anyone has been receiving their bonus miles please let me know!

Ive been told the same thing by HH CS regarding a similar offer crediting the bonus miles to BA,to be honest I don't hold out much hope of them ever crediting.

Got my triple miles from the stay in the US immediately - no sign of the ones from an earlier (by 4 days) in the UK - appears on my HHonors statement as Q2 TRIPLE MILES OFFER

My triple miles for both BA and Virgin are crediting to my HHonors account at the same time as the 'normal' points with the Q2 bonus promotion. The only time this hasn't happened was when I was on an ineligible stay (one 'January sale' rate and once on a 'spring offer rate'). There are a lot of ineligible rates (including most advance purchase rates starting with PR) - if you can find the thread on in the Hilton forum on FT there is a full list there. BA miles then post to my EC account within a few days, with Virgin it's usually at around a two week cycle.

Thanks for reassuring me. Just to clarify, my bonus miles are appearing in my HHonors account week by week, but the bonus miles haven't appeared in my FC account (yet) when the base miles have.
EDIT 24 May. Well, it was major BS as the miles have credited to my FC account. And very nice too!
