Combining BMI miles with PE Upgrade Voucher

Hi all,

Does anybody know if it's possible to redeem BMI miles for a Virgin economy flight, and then apply the VS Amex PE Upgrade voucher to that redemption?

I think using cash plus miles for premium cabins is the best use of BMI miles, but if for whatever reason that's not workable, is this an alternative?

The T&C of the reward upgrade say '.... enables you to convert an Economy reward redemption into a Premium Economy reward redemption on Virgin Atlantic....'

It doesn't specifically state that the redemption has to be made with VS miles.

Unless anyone has already tried to do it- and can give their first hand experience, I would suggest that it is one for the Flying Club to answer.
