Hi Guys

Just wondered if you have any experinces of being charged by a Tour Operator for a no show on a discount ticket?

I was just booking and airmiles ticket with BM with the intention of only doing one way, and was asked when I was returning, I said any time you have availability and was told, well if you are intending to use this as only a one way, then BMI would charge airmiles for a no show and that cost would be passed on to me!

I have done loads of no shows in the past on the great Lisbon BA First fares and never had a problem?

Was I being done?
Thanks

Hi Bluefish

Most airlines' Conditions of Carriage - which I'm sure we all read assiduosly [8)] - specify what their recourse is if a passenger only uses the outward part of a return ticket. Generally they reserve the right to charge the difference between the cost of what that flight would have been if purchased as a one-way, and what was actually paid for the return ticket.

I have never heard of an airline going after anybody for doing this as a one-off. However I do know of somebody who had his frequent flyer account cancelled with the loss of many miles etc. He had done it several times and the carrier did warn him what they would do if he did it again.
