Slightly perverse UCS legroom query

Hello All

Contrary to most legroom posts from all of the leggy people out there, I just about scraped up to be 5ft (1.51m) tall. If the seat and ottoman are fixed I'm slightly worried that my little legs won't reach the ottoman and I'll be forced to sit upright. Or is there a good recline and leg rest on the seat itself?

Will not be an issue for Himself or the Daught, who at 14 is already 6 inches taller than me!

Thanks

Pat

I think you should be OK in UCS. The seat base does go down and forwards slightly towards the ottoman during the recline process from what I can remember...Sunday was such a long time ago now!!!!

The whole seat moves rather than just the seat back when you recline.

Even sitting with your feet on the floor it's perfectly comfortable :)

The only thing I've noticed it that when your UCS table is up and your seat is fully reclined there's only a small gap to squeeze though to stand up as the table does not go far enough towards the ottoman.

On the original conversion - G-VTOP "Virginia Plain" - the ottoman was adjustable, you could move it backward and forward.

On later conversions the ottoman has been fixed, apparently because the handles for moving the ottoman were not robust enough to stand up to daily abuse from VS' passengers after one too many at the bar ;).

Apparently, a new handle is being designed, after which point, the ottoman will be adjustable as originally intended!

Cheers!
Mike

That explains what those metal handles are for on the front of the ottomans in all the promo pics of the UCS seat you see...I did wonder.

Makes perfect sense now. That will be a great feature :)

Thanks Mike

Thanks James and Mike for the replies - if Virgin are spending time on a handle design and moveable ottoman maybe the question wasn't quite as irrelevant to most people as I thought it might be:)
