CH Guesting Rules

Hello,

We're travelling on the VS39 (09:45) in UC and some friends are travelling in Y on the VS5 (12:35). Would we be able to guest them into the clubhouse at roughly 9am and just leave them there to do their own thing?

Thanks,

Mike

No - sorry, your guests have to be on the same flight as you now.

That's a shame. Thank you for your quick response!

I'm guessing the same applies if you're gold?

Yes - they changed it a long time ago from flying on same day on VS metal, to must be on same flight.

This rule makes sense to me

It's actually a shame this rule in place, as I don't think same is true of BA.

A real example in our flight in next May, a couple (both friends who come to football with us) is flying out to LAS at same time/day we fly to MCO - them in economy us in upper, with us staying at same hotel night before having beers etc. It is actually my Friends birthday on the day, and hoping to surprise him on the morning. Instead of Clubhouse we'll have to all go to No1 lounge, where I can guest them in, then we'll have to go onto clubhouse.

This wasn't a random guest request. We will ask at Clubhouse, but expect to be denied - but it is a strange ruling given the competition doesn't require same flight, just same airline, same day within a few hours.

Partially correct - BA & oneworld elites and all First passengers have guest privileges but those in Business with no status don't.

And BA have been known to impose a blanket ban on guests in the GC lounges at T5 on very busy days when they expect them to be even more crowded than usual.

As for VS - when the new rules were brought in there was speculation on here that it was because the privilege was being abused. And since DL moved some flights to T3 the Clubhouse there has been much busier (leading, I'm told, to complaints). So to me it makes sense.

BA allows access to guests of First and status passengers on a OneWorld flight departing the same day, but BA will restrict it to same flight if they are busy, or even no guests at all if very busy.
(At LHR T3 you get quite a few AA passengers using the BA Lounge and not the AA Lounge)

Have been behind someone arguing about guest access at the LHR Clubhouse entrance before, they were Gold and guest was on same flight, but the CH staff refused entry saying that it was predicted to get busy later on.
