Sitting in the United Club lounge....

Hi All

So we're sitting in the United Club lounge, waiting for the ANA flight to Haneda. A Clubhouse it's not. It's cavernous, empty, and the few people who are here seem so miserable.
Useful intelligence on my attempt to mileage upgrade to first - Virgin told me that I could do this at the airport, but having got here, and found out that there are upgrade seats available for miles, was told that I've got the WRONG miles - Ana miles CAN be used at the airport for upgrades at the airport, but Virgin upgrades cut off 24 hrs BEFORE the flight- which is not wht Virgin told me, but I keep remebering tha FF miles aren't a science but an 'art' and that if it were a science, I wouldn't have had some of the fun I've had....

Agreed it's no Clubhouse but for a US airline lounge it's not at all bad. You'll struggle to find many lounges in America (VS excepted obviously!) that have a full, free bar and a half-decent buffet.

I agree it's no clubhouse but I found it a very pleasant place when I was there a few months ago waiting for my flight to HND.
You're no doubt on your way now, enjoy your time in Japan.
