next weekend we are flying from LHR T2 to Aberdeen. As Gold members we can get into the Air Lingus lounge but with our Priority Pass card we can access the Plaza Premiunm lounge. Which is better?

The Aer Lingus lounge is nice and light with good views out over the airfield. But the food and drink offer is very basic (just snacks and limited self serve bar).
Plaza Premium is darker and windowless but food and drink is much more substantial (hot buffet, tended bar).
So depends what you're after really. Plaza Premium is certainly a cut above most PP lounges but if you just want a quick drink with a view Aer Lingus is perfectly sufficient.

not been in the aer lingus lounge, but a few weeks back i had a few hours in the PP one when my flight was delayed
there's a wide range of seating, from workstations to a pair of 'love seats' in a particularly dark and semiscreened bit
service was fine, didn't try the food as i'd eaten beforehand, but the espresso from the bar was good, seemed to be a decent range of drinks including bubbly (which i assume you'd need to pay for)
it was fairly busy (i was there mid-morning until early afternoon), but not so crowded as to feel cramped

Aer Lingus lounge does (or did a couple of weeks ago) have fizz you could serve yourself. Not that I did as was on my way to a customer meeting!

T2 - is actually a really decent Terminal, the best I have visited to be honest. Open, light, roomy and well kitted out with lots to do - again, depending upon how long you have to spend there.
A lounge is always great - but on a positive if you do stay with the masses you can enjoy a YoSushi (I love this place) and I believe Heston has a new restaurant there (The Perfectionists Café) which looks very nice...
Now, free lounge access is always great - but I would defiantly check out the main area...

I ate at The Perfectionists last time I was in T2 (without realising there was a lounge I could go to...), food was very good, although priced at what you would expect for airport prices. Could always eat at one of the restaurants and then retreat to a lounge afterwards!

When I did my two TP runs on Litle Red between MAN and LHR I didn't have a Priority Pass card at the time, but really liked T2. As mentioned by Daniel, it's very light and airy and it has quite a bit to do, I really prefer it to T3. Both times I was there for a few hours and found ample seating. This time we do have PP cards, so we'll definitely check out the lounge, but it's nice to know the terminal itself is a pleasant place to while away the hours.
