Tip for reward seat hunting

This might be obvious (and I think this might work because of the way the taxonomy works with the 'new' VS website), but in case this is of use...

I've realised that each flight search generates a unique web address, which you can just bookmark for doing dummy runs (when looking for G fares, for example, and there is no availability on your desired date, so you have to keep checking).

You can do it for date ranges or a specific day. Once you bookmark the page, it re-loads it (each time 'live' with current availability) instantly, without the need to put in dates and enter all the other fields from the general book your flight page.

Let's say I'm looking for general NYC-LON o/w reward availability around 12 October. I enter that search once and then bookmark the resulting web address. All I need do to pull up that result in future searches is click on the bookmark.

Similarly if you're hunting that G for a specific date (in this case NYC-LON, 5 October), you can do exactly the same thing.

So now I set up a few bookmarks for dates I'm hunting which currently don't have reward availability in the specific cabin/date/flight I'm looking for, and it's been working like a dream.

Sorry if this is totally obvious, and what you've all been doing already!

Yes this is a great improvement to the site and assisted in getting G's to EWR earlier in the year.

Excellent tip! Will make my next obsession with getting a G much easier when checking multiple times a day :D

Its a good idea but the only trouble is sometimes after a few goes checking like that I have found that it locks you out, taking you back to the home page saying it has done so to protect your priacy.

That's strange, it's never done that for me. But then I'm only checking each date (i.e. clicking each link) once or twice a day.
