Hoping someone can help. I've booked flights to Orlando going out on 21June 2016. Economy on the outward leg, PE on the return. Can I reclaim the £73 APD charged for my 13 year old daughter.

AFAIK no you can't, this is because the APD exemption applies only to Economy tickets, PE & UC tickets are in premium cabins, so if your itinerary is Economy out (exempt) and PE return (not exempt) then you'll pay APD for the sector travelled in the premium cabin for your daughter. If you were doing return in PE for example the full APD would be £146pp from 1st April 2016, so you've correctly been charged half.

Thanks Bretty. Not very sure of these things. I thought the APD was only charged on the outward leg and there was nothing to pay on the return sector. If that is the case surely she should not have any APD on her ticket. all 3 of us are showing £73 each for the flight. Am now totally confused.

You only pay APD on ex-UK legs.
The VS hasn't changed the booking engine to distinguish the <16s from the >16s and still only wants to know the number of >12s in the booking.
Give VS (or whoever you booked with) a ring and say you want it refunded now and not when you fly (which with HMRC agreement is what was done after the change of policy was introduced at short notice) as it shouldn't really have been charged in the first place and TBH they've had enough time to change their systems (though I note the BA website on the booking engine is still only asking foe the numbers of >12 in the booking)
