I fear you've missed the boat.
The likelihood is the cheaper fare bucket has sold out and you're now being quoted the next one up.
Have you looked at alternative dates or routes?

Prices go up and down during the sales. I booked a flight to Jamaica a few weeks ago for £728.04 and I have been checking the prices daily out of curiosity. A few days last week it went up to £900+ for a return PE flight but has gone down by £100 today. There was even £20 off flights last week also. It depends on whether you want to take the risk. The same flight goes up to £1300 outside of the sale so as far as I am concerned getting it for £728.04 was a bargain that I wasn't prepared to risk especially since it gave me the opportunity to book early and secure my PE seats upstairs in the bubble. Now both the bubble seats and window seats (which I prefer) have gone. You've got to go for it when you see a price that suits your budget.

Prices certainly do go up & down, I was considering PE return to New York for next year at £819; tonight it's £756 - so an easy decision to make and I've booked it

Today only VS are matching BA's offer of £63 off long haul flights, to mark the Queen's 63 year reign.
