Planes, trains and automobiles

Not quite in that order, but pretty close

I haven't posted this in trip reports yet as its really a prelim to the main event

This holiday starts tonight with a stay in the Hilton at Edinburgh Airport, luckily courtesy of hhonors as the rate was absolutely horrendous (£299)

Since discovered half of the tour of Britain are staying here so that's probably why

Tomorrow whilst not the main plane event, will probably be one of the main events of my lifetime

Tomorrow morning in Waverly Station in Edinburgh, I board the "Union of South Africa" steam train with HM the Queen to travel down our new Borders Railway when she officially becomes the longest serving Monarch :D

After lunch, we return to Edinburgh then I pick up the car at Edinburgh Airport, drive to Glasgow airport then fly down to Heathrow on BA

Overnight at the Hilton at T4 then out on the VS103 to Atlanta then onwards to MCO via Delta.

Then two and a bit weeks in the lovely Floridian sunshine at Walt Disney's Saratoga Springs.

If anybody wants any details on my train trip please ask away, if not I will stick to plane stuff

Fingers crossed all the individual booked bits go to plan, but hopefully tripit is my saviour

Thanks

David

:D thinking about "finishing" of the experience by using Addison Lee and doing the whole DTCI thing.

Think it cost around £60 the last time , but as 90% of this trip is on " points " it's a little extravagance that's probably worth paying for.

Thank you. I asked because I'm booked into the Hilton and now have to get to T3 for a BA flight. ( The flight has been moved from T5). I'm not very good with luggage so don't fancy dragging it to the free train. :-O

Have a great trip. All of the legs.
Give my regards to HM, I was the 5th Cub Scout from the left when we were presented to her in 1957.
She hasn't changed a bit.

Maybe we should do away with the SEQ bragging and start a "Where were you when you checked in" thread.

Haha. Was too tired last night to try and figure it out. Think it's probably something to do with the files all named the same ????

JFYI hiljil, got concierge to order me a taxi , nice Mercedes s class, who took me straight to DTCI ( no prebooking, just flight number and name needed) and all for £40 inc tip.

Thought that was fine.

Oh, thank you, David, for that.
