Good evening all!

We're travelling to South Africa in August (6th-25th) and I've been pricing up flights both with Expedia and VS directly.

We start in Durban and finish in Cape Town so I've priced up a multi-flight itinerary in Y on Expedia which works out at a very reasonable £631. That's LHR-JNB (VS), JNB-DUR (BA - Comair) The return from CPT is the same routing via JNB.

When I price up a standard return to JNB on the VS site I'm getting a price of around £950. No other flight websites seem to be offering the same combo deal that Expedia are. Is this something that happens regularly or is there a price error somewhere in their system? I just can't see how it's cheaper to book via a third party, save over £300 pp plus take an extra two fight sectors.

Many thanks for any advice!

Matt

That's quite normal Matt and works the same as the ex EU we all talk about.
Vs will be competing against BA and South African so will need to match their direct Durban and Cape Town prices
You can't get ex EU prices either on the vs website.

Many thanks, that makes sense. It really does pay to shop around and try different combinations on different sites. Opodo was not even close to the price of Expedia.

Just booked them.... The countdown begins! :D
