I have read many threads regarding Heathrow hotels on v flyer but cannot now find them.

Having decided this evening that instead of getting up at 3.30/4.00 am for our March VS117 flight to Miami we would travel to Heathrow the night before & stay in a hotel.

Hopefully fellow v flyers can help me with the following two questions.

1. What hotels would you recommend at Heathrow?

2. We wont have a car with us so what options, if any do we have for using dtci?, I know that VS need to be advised in advance of vehicle reg etc so assume we can't just jump in to a taxi.

Thanks in anticipation of your responses

Hi Oldboy.

I stayed at the Hilton at T4 when we travelled to Atlanta last year

You don't need to advise VS of a reg number now and it only takes a few more minutes than if you do.

Enjoy your trip

I've stayed at the Hilton T4 recently, the Radisson T3 and the Sofitel T5, and I like them all.
According to Raffles at Head for Points, the Sofitel was showing up again on lastminute.com's secret hotels:

When we use DTCI we use Uber and you can use a cab and call the UC wing when your car arrives.p, although as said, it's not essential.

If all you want is a decent clean room, with blackout curtains & good soundproofing, then do consider the Premier Inn on Bath Road. I've stayed there a few times before ex-LHR flights and have found it hard to fault for both value for money & sleep quality. Only warning I would give is to pre-book your table at the in-house restaurant if you want to dine there, as otherwise there is likely to be a wait (they give you a pager so you can have a drink at the bar while you wait).

Of course, if you want more luxury / Executive rooms / Executive lounges, then you are going to have to spend more. But for us - especially with the lure of breakfast in the Clubhouse in the morning - the Premier Inn saved us a bit of cash (better spent in New York) and we had a good nights sleep.

in the last two days have just stayed at the Sofitel on an offer from Hotels.com ( I had a free night having stayed 10 at various hotels and paid a £30 top up as Sofitel is not cheap. Lovely room and as it is at T5 , very easy to walk to when we got off our BA shuttle from MAN.

Didn't use DTCI as we needed a walk but will do so next time just for the fun of it.

Am now re-reading old posts on other hotels for next trip, maybe Bath Road as that seems to work for many posters. so your question is timely for me too ! have a great trip !

As I am more of a BA than VS flyer I tend to use the Sofitel at T5. The best airport hotel I have ever stayed in. As I have Accor status I get upgrades and use of the Executive lounge, which is nice.

However, when I fly from T3 it seems a bit pointless to stay overnight at T5. Last time I flew from T3 we stayed at the Premier Inn on Bath road. As Kraken says, great value. £119 for a nights stay with hotel parking PLUS 15 days Meet and Greet Purple Parking included is a very good deal.

Now I love a luxury hotel stay, as we all do, but I also like a bargain. The Premier Inn deal is too hard for me to pass up I feel.

In April we will be travelling VS UC from T3. I am torn between the staying at the Premier Inn with its bargain deal or at the Sofitel using the "Secret Hotel" deal mentioned by Bretty. Although with the latter I will also need to purchase airport parking and an Uber car to take us to T3 for the DTCI. The question is, is DTCI and a brief nights stay at the Sofitel worth the extra cost (over £150). Hmmmmmm.

I have stayed in scores of Premier Inns and never had a bad nights sleep I must admit. They are basic, but nice basic. But i do so love the Softel and would like to try DTCI. Decisions, decisions!!

Sofitel T5 easily the best hotel at LHR. You can wander into the terminal to eat as well if you wish. Easy to catch the Heathrow Express (free) to T3.

Ended up booking the Park Inn Radisson at a very good rate of £79, reviews seem fine & as we will be arriving at around 9pm & departing at 7am it should be adequate, also only a short taxi ride to dtci.
