Text this morning informing me that my MAN-LAS flight in August is now departing 15 minutes earlier than it was after the last change. Checking it out on my bookings there's a tell tale later arrival despite the earlier departure, and on further inspection we have an equipment change from the mighty A346 to the A333. Maybe bookings aren't as good as they'd hoped, I've not checked out other dates yet but quite an overall capacity downgrade if it's across the whole high season. Not that bothered about an A330 on a day flight, just as long as the return stays as a 747.

Yes I have had the same email but both the outbound and inbound flights are now on the 330's from the 340's. The flight on the return seems to be nearly an hour longer now. However it looks like they have started a Tuesday direct flight now in August and there are plenty of G's available for outbound flights if anyone is interested.

Indeed the summer peak flights, flown last year by the A346 which were due to be operated again this year by the A346 have now switched to the A333. I would imagine this is to offer a larger PE cabin which sells well on this route, so will generate more revenue for VS.

That said with 33 UC seats on the Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday flights from late July to early September some great G availability seems to be available.

Personally I did the LAS route a couple of times on the A333 when it use to operate from MAN in the two-class configuration and the crews I know found it tough with no crew beds on board. Wouldn't imagine they will be looking forward to the return of the A333 on the LAS route...
